Labor of Love is Reverend Bob’s message this Sunday at Unity of Palm Harbor.
Labor Day Sunday Service
We all know that doing what you love and loving what you do are keys to happiness. For many, it seems that this concept is a tough one to achieve because- let’s face it -he have to make a living to support ourselves and those we love. Some types of work/careers make more money than others but isn’t life also about figuring out how we can fulfill both our obligations and our satisfaction and enjoyment about how we get there? There are ways to go about making changes so that your life and the life of those around you can flourish even when there are bills to pay and work may currently feel like drudgery to you instead of bliss. This is part of what a Labor of Love entails.
This Sunday, our affirmation is “Love is my labor and it’s so easy.”
In addition to our wonderful musicians, Terrel and Michele Lovett and Joy Katzen Guthrie, Cynthia Barnes will be playing the beautiful Tibetan bowls as the background for the meditation portion of our services.
Prayer Chaplains are available after each of the 9:30 and 11:00 am services for individual prayer.
The Youth Ministry meets in the Heritage Building at 11:00 AM. You can find the location adjacent to the sanctuary. Youth Ministry classes are divided into age groups so that your child has an age appropriate experience and can socialize with their peers.
We hope you’ll join us this Sunday of Labor Day weekend at Unity of Palm Harbor!
As we celebrate Labor Day, we also celebrate the many contributions people make to create a better world.
Unity’s World Day of Prayer at UPH
Unity of Palm Harbor is participating in Unity’s World Day of Prayer with a special service at 7pm in the sanctuary. Unity centers everywhere will be joining in at this time and for following 23 hours to focus and uplift our hearts and to pray for those we love, ourselves, those in need and for the world at large.
The UPH Vigil Service for World Day of Prayer begins Wednesday Sept 11 at 7.00 pm and will offer music, meditation, special readings, silence and candles. There will also be a prayer box for your requests for prayer.
Prayer Chaplains will also be in attendance to pray with you and there is a sign up sheet in the foyer if you would like to participate on a deeper level and commit pray for one hour during the 24 hour vigil.
Guiding Prayer from the Unity.org website
Breathing in to prayer, I am in awe of the unbound spirit, the infinite presence within and around me. God is vitality in my breath, beauty in the natural world, strength in my determination, and compassion in my acts of service. I recognize God in the spaciousness of the universe as well as in my limitless dreams.
Let me set my sight beyond where I have seen before, into the vast reality of divine power and presence. Let me draw upon divine power and presence in order to fulfill my great potential.
In the harmony of prayer, my heart beats to the rhythm of God. The pulse of infinite life moves me, nourishes me, and empowers me to give life to my dreams.
