Independence Day just passed but it is always time to think about what independence truly means and what the costs are to these freedoms.
Independence means many things to each of us- the freedoms we enjoy in our daily lives, increasing independence from our parents as we grow from being children to teens to adults, the feelings of joy we get when we exercise our freedom of religion, the right to vote, etc. The asterisk in the image above, though, is meant to make you think about what we often take for granted, living in one of the countries in the world that afford the many freedoms we do have. Our freedom is something to cherish and protect.
Reverend Bob will be sharing the message this Sunday at both services and will explore what it really means to have inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. He’ll also talk and the costs involved because freedom isn’t free! Many have paid the ultimate price (their lives) defending freedom, and for freedom to survive and thrive, it must be maintained. This is both true for nations as well as individuals.
Why Unity of Palm Harbor is Special
If you haven’t been to Unity, you will be amazed as you drive into our property at 1960 Tampa Road in Palm Harbor, FL. It is truly a peaceful beautiful place, filled with huge oaks that offer a canopy of shade and allow other plants and flowers to thrive in our gardens. There are nearly five acres on the campus, which consists of our sanctuary building, the Heritage Building where classes and the youth ministry meet and where we enjoy snacks and fellowship after each of the Sunday services and, behind that, gardens and walkways to enjoy.
Recently, local photographer Mikell Herrick took some gorgeous photos of the Unity of Palm harbor grounds. Take a look!
In addition to the setting, more importantly you will find an air of positivity in the messages shared and in the community who attend our Sunday services and the activities we host and share. We are a welcoming and thoughtful group who believe in embracing diversity, sharing meaningful messages and enjoying each other’s company.
Come and check us out! It would make us so happy to meet you.
